Frequently Asked Questions:

 

Where are the classes located? Classes are held at 505 Maple Street, Junction City, OR.  You can find the classroom at the corner of 5th and Maple.  A 'LANE' sign is posted outside.

 

How long will it take to get my GED? It depends on your skill level when you start classes & your dedication.  If you are ready to start GED testing, it will take about a month to complete.  Most students take at least a term, and some other students take as long as two years.

 

What will I need when I take the GED tests?  You will need a valid, government issued picture ID, proof of payment, and if you are under 18, permission from the school district (a referral or exemption).

 

Can I use an out of state ID? Yes, as long as it is a govenment issued picture ID.  You can also use a current passport.

 

Can I use my school ID?  No.

 

Can I just go take the GED tests? This depends on if you are 18 or not.  If you are over 18 and you want to just go test without going through our program, you are welcome to do so.  If you want financial assistance through ETF, you will need to register for GED classes.  If you are under 18, you cannot take the GED tests without permission from the school district.

 

Do you offer online classes? No.

 

If I am 18 or over, can I still be a part of the GED Option program?  You may be able to.  Please contact the high school for more information.

 

Can I get into a 4 year college with a GED?  Yes, but there are minimum score requirements!  Some colleges even take your GED scores in place of the SAT or ACT.

 

Can I get scholarships with a GED? Yes, but all scholarships are different and have different requirements.   Lane Community College's Career and Counseling Center is a fantastic resource to find out more.  They are located at LCC's main campus in building 1.  Their website is: http://www.lanecc.edu/ces/scholarships
